We, on the other hand, find which part on the board is not working and just replace the individual part. When you think about it, it really makes more sense. Circuit boards can have hundreds of parts on them, why should you pay to replace all of them when not all of them are bad? And that is really the difference in price. Unfortunately, it takes a lot of training and knowledge to do repairs like this and that is why very few people do it.
We only charge a low deposit to drop it off. From there we will diagnose the problem and see what needs to be done to repair it. Depending on what it needs the cost can vary, however we do require payment for any parts we need to order before we will begin work on it. This allows us to quote you more accurately so you are not getting an unexpected bill. If you decide not to have it repaired, your deposit will be applied to the diagnostic work done.
The time it will take to repair an issue will greatly vary upon what needs to be fixed, how complex the fix is, and if we have to order parts from outside our shop. The best way to tell how long it will take is to bring it in.
